Recycling
is one of the easiest steps we can all take towards living more
environmentally conscious lives and is a great way to help make
the most efficient use out of our material resources.
The
company Ripple Glass is setting up glass recycling drop-off stations
around Kansas City and, is placing a new station at 1010 Southwest
Blvd, between E. Edwards Work Wear and Strasser Hardware. The drop-off
station is a large purple bin.
Ripple
Glass is also building a processing plant and has found a local
company to turn the recycled glass into fiberglass insulation. Ripple
Glass notes on its website that this will save, “massive amounts
of energy while producing a product . . . that saves still more
energy.”
Ripple
Glass can accept all food and drink containers of any color, including
mason jars. Glass should be dumped directly into the purple bin
with no containers. You do not need to remove the labels from your
glass.
RDA
encourages all Rosedale community members to collect their glass
and take the glass to this conveniently close drop off point. And
don't forget to TELL A FRIEND!
